The “Figure It Out” EP was announced exclusively by Jai during an interview in Los Angeles on the Beats 1’s Travis Mills show. Commenting on the EP, Jai says “This EP is a body of work that came together through a bunch of sessions with my producer James, it’s the first solid work we’ve done together and it was really just a lot of experimenting and getting to know each other. It’s a step into this new direction and has a couple more urban tracks on there, and a couple of straighter pop vibes.”

The “Figure It Out” EP includes Jai’s most recent single “ Honestly” featuring Carmouflage Rose. “Honestly”, a contemporary hybrid of RnB and pop sensibilities which was written by Jai and Carmouflage Rose, has surpassed over 2.5 million streams worldwide.

Waetford surprised the Maitland Groovin The Moo audience in early May, jumping up on stage during Carmouflage Rose’s set to join him in performing ‘Honestly’.

Also featured on the “Figure It Out” EP is “Friends”, which was Jai’s first official single of 2018, following the release of “Lost In You” and “Get Over.” The moody and melodic “Friends” showcased Jai’s musical evolution, vulnerabilities and emotional maturity; and has accumulated over 3 million streams to date.

The EP, produced by James Angus, is rounded out by three new tracks – “Figure It Out”, “Alone” and “Running Cold”. Opening title track “Figure It Out” sets the scene sonically for the EP, fusing old school guitar riffs with modern drums and 808’s, telling a tale of miscommunications and misunderstandings.

Alone”, a track about patience in the pursuit for happiness continues the lyrical themes set in the opening tracks, with “Running Cold” rounding up the EP, a raw and revealing song about acceptance, life learnings and falling in love.

Jai is gearing up for a massive 2019 – he’s recently wrapped an extensive US promo tour, supported Dennis Lloyd on his Australian tour, launched a campaign with Calvin Klein, his official YouTube channel officially surpassed 916,000 subscribers, his ever-growing online empire now encompasses over 611 million worldwide streams and over half a million followers on Instagram, and he has a string of shows to be announced in the coming months.

David Campbell Releases New Studio Album ‘Back In The Swing’

AVAILABLE TO BUY, STREAM & DOWNLOAD NOW!

David Campbell knew there were legs in the idea of a new swing album when he played a little-known song called Make Love’ one night in Adelaide and watched the room go wild. The same reaction repeated the next show. And the one after that.

“And every time I did it the dancefloor filled by the first or second chorus, even though they didn’t know the song,” he says of the Joe Cang number he discovered on Youtube. “It’s a feel good song, and it’s modern and it’s new and it doesn’t feel like it’s come out of an LA factory.”

With the help of storied arranger and producer Chong Lim,  as well as his on-stage musical director Joe Accaria , Campbell has built this new album with a determination to mix tradition with new ideas. BACK IN THE SWING is the result and is available to buy, download and stream NOW through Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

Featuring 11 memorable tracks guaranteed to have you singing along to right from the start, listeners will experience David’s silky vocals on Come Fly With Me’, with more big band swing than Vegas ring-a-ding, sitting alongside Stevie Wonder’s For Once In My Life’, done as an elegant but powerful ballad. Then, while Walkin’ My Baby Back Home’ makes you want to sweep across the ballroom floor, there’s finger-snapping and doo wop in his version of Holland/Dozier/Holland’s Motown favourite, I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)’.

Elsewhere there’s a merger of Billy Joel’s ‘New York State of Mind’ with George Gershwin’s‘Rhapsody in Blue’ that has the business of that city’s streets, some R&B inside Buona Sera’, made famous by Louis Prima, and two classics in You Make Me Feel So Young’ and The Old Fashioned Way’.
And wait, isn’t that Ian Moss singing with Campbell on another Frank Sinatra standard, the tender, string-laden In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning’? Yes, and what’s more the Cold Chisel man contributes an evocative, unexpected, un-swing guitar solo.

“I do have a couple of favourites on this album and that is definitely one,” says Campbell, who had the idea after watching Moss on stage alongside the great songwriter Jimmy Webb.

“I said to Mossy then, if I do another swing album, I think you should do a track. It’s a joy to sing with him, and it’s a funny take on what would happen if Cold Chisel was a jazz band.”

If that’s a question that has probably never been asked, one question Campbell had before following up THE SWING SESSIONS and THE SWING SESSIONS 2, was what kind of singer was he now, more than a decade on from those Top Ten hits, and after a successful national run on stage in the title role of Dream Lover: The Bobby Darin Musical.
Here again he looked to his heroes, like Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole and Tony Bennett, whose sound matured as they matured.

“What they did really well, which we are sort of losing the art of, was they just aged it like cheese, or wine: they let it breathe,” he says. “For me, I really wanted to let these arrangements breathe so it was a conscious decision for Chong and I to feel like we were making a grown up album, as opposed to feeling like we were still trying to be young and ring-a-ding ding.”

“It’s something all those great singers had. It’s something I don’t think I got relaxed with until I got older. If I was younger doing Johnny Mathis, I probably would have wanted to over sing it,” he says. “But to let the song be, let it sing in your voice, well …”

“Maybe I’m maturing,” he laughs. “Maybe these greys in my hair mean something.”

A 2018 Helpmann Award winner, Campbell is also renowned for his rousing performances on the musical theatre stage, most recently breaking box office records for his spellbinding performance in  ‘Dream Lover the Bobby Darin Musical’. Campbell is also nationally recognised and respected for his roles as co-host of both Today Extra, Weekend Today and the yearly Carols by Candlelight for the Nine Network. This is in addition to hosting his top rating weekend show on Smooth FM radio.

Jessica Mauboy releases ‘Sunday’

Jessica Mauboy releases ‘Sunday’

AVAILABLE NOW
INTIMATE LIVE SHOWS THIS WEEKEND –
SELLING FAST – PURCHASE NOW

Today sees the release of the brand new single from ARIA Award winning Jessica Mauboy,‘Sunday, through Sony Music Entertainment. ‘Sunday’ which is available to download and stream NOW.

‘Sunday’ was co- written with The Orphanage (Demi Lovato, Bebe Rexha, Alessia Cara). It is the first song Jessica has written for her upcoming fourth studio album and one of Mauboy’s best works to date.

Each of Mauboy’s albums have been extremely personal and this new album shows her now at 29, reflecting on family – he family we are born in to and the family we choose – alongside the little things in our lives – the quiet moments on a Sunday afternoon, the private thoughts alone in a taxi cab, the 3am reflections, the little rejections, the disappointments, the small heartbreaks, but ultimately about hope and spirit which amount to the biggest things – who we are. ‘Sunday’ is the first taste from this new album, due later this year.

“My favourite part of the song ‘Sunday’ is where the lyrics go – ‘I forgive you then you forget, you’re sleeping even if you didn’t make that bed’”, explains Jessica.  “There is so much sass in that and I love this idea of creating emotionally how just by little things by not making a bed, folding the clothes, picking up your rubbish can be so irritating and annoying that those things if not said can filter through the day, or the next day or the week or the month and can turn into something really I guess tangy. But I loved how passionate those lyrics and how deep they are.”

Jessica will be taking to the stage tonight in Brisbane and Melbourne on Sunday night after her sold out Sydney show on Wednesday night where she is giving fans a taste of new music from her forthcoming album. For all show details and tickets, please head HERE.

Jessica’s own music has been that saviour for many, with five top 10 albums, fifteen top 20 singles, 4 ARIA accredited Platinum selling albums and winning two ARIA Music Awards from 24 nominations to her name since she captured the heart of the nation as a 16-year-old on Australian Idol back in 2006. Since then, her songs & videos have been streamed globally over 257 million times and over 102 million times in Australia alone. She has toured with Beyonce, collaborated with Ricky Martin, Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg and Pitbull; performed for Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and made history being the first non-European solo artist to represent Australia at Eurovision in 2014. Jessica has also starred in Bran Nue Dae, the acclaimed 2012 musical The Sapphires, and in 2016 & 2017, starred in the 2 x 6 part Australian TV series, The Secret Daughter. In 2016 she made ARIA Chart history being the first indigenous woman to achieve three consecutive weeks at #1 for her release of SONGS FROM THE ORIGINAL TV SERIES – THE SECRET DAUGHTER SERIES 1 AND SERIES 2. Away from the microphone, Jessica uses her high public profile to support community organisations and promote reconciliation, multiculturalism and healthy living.

CURRENTLY ON THEIR NATIONAL TOUR
 ‘THE BIGGEST TOUR EVER…SO FAR

Australian duo Peking Duk have today released their brand new single ‘Ur Eyez’ featuring Al Wright, via Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

‘Ur Eyez’ follows on from Peking Duk’s most recent summer anthem ‘Sugar’ with fellow Australian Jack River which was recently ARIA certified GOLD in Australia. ‘Ur Eyez’  is a fitting follow up to Sugar’ , with it’s uplifting anthemic chorus paired perfectly with the vocals of Al Wright, lead singer of Cloud Control.

Describing the new single, Adam Hyde from Peking Duk comments “Ur Eyez is a song about life. I wrote the initial idea in Thailand on holiday and it seemed like such a loving and fun vibe. Once we got to writing with Al it made sense to make the song about all the good things and the bad things – the highs the lows and everything in between. Everything just flows by so quickly and you’ll experience lots of different emotions along the way but in the end, that’s life. I think there’s something beautiful about just accepting that life is both high and very low sometimes.”

Al Wright adds “We were writing this song when I was in the middle a breakup, so to me, it’s about going through emotional times and just embracing life for what it is. I wanted the chorus to feel uplifting and inspirational, but with an awareness that life can throw some serious curveballs at you. And it’s always OK to feel how you feel!”

2019 is gearing up to be Peking Duk’s most exciting and diverse year to date. Their incredible talent continues to evolve as they surprise the public with ventures such as releasing an entertaining childrens book, ‘DJDUKS’ (available now at djduks.com and Booktopia ), and opening one of the hottest bars in Melbourne, Talk To Me.

Peking Duk are currently on the road with The Biggest Tour Ever…So Far, most recently performing to a sold-out Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. After selling out The Wasted Tour across Australian capital cities last year, the duo are sharing their epic live show and revealing brand new music to 50,000 fans across capital cities and regional areas. The Biggest Tour Ever…So Far, which began in March will visit Canberra, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Cairns, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Launceston, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne. Head to www.pekingduk.com for tickets.

The ARIA Award winners have amassed over 300 million streams globally and accredited over 1.5million ARIA units. They have taken their live show far beyond Australian borders, performing to sold-out crowds in venues and festivals across the US, UK, Asia and Europe – and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

The Veronicas release highly-anticipated new single ‘Think Of Me’

The Veronicas release highly-anticipated new single ‘Think Of Me’

‘THINK OF ME’ – AVAILABLE HERE

With great anticipation The Veronicas return from hiatus today and release their sublime new single ‘Think Of Me’ through Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

‘Think  Of Me’ marks a new creative high in The Veronicas’ career, a cutting edge pop offering from one of Australia’s most innovative and successful pop acts. Set within an atmosphere of pulsating hypnotic beats, ‘Think Of Me’ is an explicitly intimate experience. Lyrically, it’s honest and raw with a pop euphoric chorus that keeps it light and satirical. Sonically it signals a new direction for the pair.

Recorded in Sydney late last year with engineer/producer Robby De Sa and co-written with local songwriter, Isabella Kearney-Nurse Think Of Me’ is a song reflecting the bitter acceptance of the end of a relationship. Those moments you skip between memories, imagining them with someone else, and genuine wonder. With a healthy, healing dose of black comedy also in the mix.

The creative chemistry between the sisters is to support and nurture one another’s ideas and inspiration, Lisa Origliasso explains “I said to Jess, If you’ve got something to say, the most powerful way you can say it, probably the only way you can say it, is through the music. There was no filter at all in these sessions, we’ve always been incredibly uncensored. That’s how we live our lives. We just speak it how we see it.”

About The Veronicas
The Veronicas extraordinary career achievements so far speak for themselves: The first Australian act to score a platinum single in the US (over 1 million units sold for 2007’s‘Untouched’) 9 top 10 hits in Australia, including three #1s; 500 million-plus streams; 175 million YouTube/Vevo views and 3.5 million social connections

Speaking on the collaboration, Jai said “Carmouflage Rose’s mind is so creative and naturally talented, his ideas and melodies are so far from what I’m used to that it pushes me to think on the spot and I think that’s how this song came together”.

‘Honestly’ follows on from a very successful 2018 for Jai Waetford, which saw him release
Lost In You’, ‘Get Over’ and official single ‘Friends’ which has accumulated 2.5 Million streams to date. The moody and melodic tracks showcased the now-20 year old’s musical evolution, with the lyrics revealing Jai’s vulnerabilities and emotional maturity.

The past four years have been an emotional and professional rollercoaster for Sewell, seeing him hit many career milestones, including landing his first ARIA Award for Song of The Year with his breakout ARIA number 1 hit Start Again, and amassing nearly 1 billion streams as the vocalist on Kygo’s RIAA platinum hit, Firestone.’ He has toured with Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and Kygo, performing on some of the biggest stages around the globe including Maddison Square Garden and Coachella; joining forces with the late Avicii on Taste That Feeling and bringing Sex, Love & Water to life for Armin van Buuren.

Sewell says; This album pretty much sums up my life to date. A lot of the album was inspired by my battles with addiction, regrets I have as a result of those battles, and the people I’ve hurt along the way. These were hard truths that I’ve had to come to terms with. Although the underlying message in most of the songs is one of redemption and hope that people can change…I suppose that’s what the journey of life is all about. I wanted to make a classic timeless album with songs that will hopefully be played 50 years from now. No bells and whistles, just my truth and my voice singing with every ounce of pain and love that I have.”

Sewell will hit the road this May and June, taking his LIFE tour around the country for his biggest Australian headline tour to date. The shows will see Sewell play a combination of his well-loved hits along with new songs from his upcoming album.

Conrad has also announced that he will be bringing his younger sister and best friend, Grace, on the road with him for his LIFE tour. In 2015 at only 16 years of age, Grace climbed charts around the world with her hugely successful smash hit ‘You Don’t Own Me’ featuring US rapper G-Eazy. ‘You Don’t Own Me’ was the lead single from Grace’s debut album FMA released in July 2016. Conrad and Grace made history as the only ever Australian siblings to have the number one and two singles on the ARIA chart at the same time with ‘You Don’t Own Me’ and ‘Start Again’; ‘You Don’t Own Me’ peaked at #1 on the ARIA, iTunes and Shazam charts, #2 on the Australian Airplay charts and scored Grace her first ARIA nomination, the song is now 4 x platinum and has been streamed over half a billion times. Grace, who is now 21, has spent the past few years writing and recording and plans to release brand new music in 2019.

Sewell says; “I’m so excited to be embarking on my biggest Australian tour to date and to be bringing my little sister on the road with me. To be able to bring this album to life and play my full body of work is going to be amazing. Playing venues like The Forum and the Enmore is a dream come true”
